Microsoft is expanding its capabilities with the new Microsoft Supply Chain Platform. The Supply Chain Platform brings together existing investments in ERP systems with Microsoft’s AI, collaboration, and low-code solutions. The platform provides data and supply chain orchestration, a Supply Chain Center offering a command center experience, Data Management to ingest and integrate data across platforms and systems, and integration in to the existing Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management platform. Finally, integration is rolling out for Sustainability Manager within the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability. Additional information on the new Microsoft Supply Chain Platform can be found here.
Why This Matters
- Microsoft’s deep partnerships with major players in the supply chain infrastructure across the world combined with experience in managing the Xbox and Surface supply chain drove this new platform.
- The platform is designed to build on existing ERP investments by extracting essential data and connecting it into the Microsoft Cloud. This makes this new platform more accessible to a broader set of customers and does not require Dynamics 365 as a foundation.
- When deployed, the platform can allow real-time insights on the end-to-end supply chain, insights into potential disruptors, and recommendations on actions that should be taken.
