Azure Site Recovery Gains Zonal Support
Customers now have more options to protect applications, recover faster, and meet recovery objectives. Azure Site Recovery (ASR) allows a virtual machine to be replicated to another region with recovery plans to provide rapid disaster recovery options and capabilities. With the latest announcement, ASR will now support zonal options as well as regional. This service enhancement would allow an application in Availability Zone 1 to now replicate to Zone 2 in the same region providing faster replication, potentially faster recovery, and would reduce latency and related network concerns for an application moving to a different region.
