Project Narya

Announcement #2 in What’s New From Microsoft in March 2021

Every month Microsoft announces hundreds of new features, capabilities, and services across the Microsoft cloud platforms – Azure, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365. We boil it down to what is most important and share them via our monthly newsletter.  Here is #2 for March of 2021.

Project Narya

Narya is an Azure enhancement designed to improve reliability and uptime.  Microsoft recently disclosed that this new capability has been running in Azure for almost a year and has reduced potential virtual machine interruptions by 26%. Instead of using statistical models for hardware failures and customer impacts, Narya uses machine learning to identify patterns and trends common to failure and forecast when the actual failure might occur. The Azure backend services then automatically start clearing the impacted system and optimizing where virtual workloads will run. Microsoft is now working to add more prediction scenarios and improving the decision process to further reduce customer interruptions in Azure. Details on the project can be found here:    Read More +
