Every month Microsoft announces hundreds of new features, capabilities, and services across the Microsoft cloud platforms – Azure, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365. We boil it down to what is most important and share them via our monthly newsletter. Here is #5 for January of 2021.
Dynamics and Power Platform 2021 Release Wave 1 Announced
Microsoft releases hundreds of updates to Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform in two major waves each year. Fortunately, they share details of what is coming several months in advance so we can prepare and avoid surprises. The Wave 1 release for 2021 will begin arriving in customer tenants in April. The Wave 1 update includes numerous changes to nearly every module including native voice capabilities in Customer Service, intelligent cash flow with machine learning to predict when customers will pay in Finance, ongoing enhancements to Project Operations replacing Project Service Automation, Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) tools and processes flows in Commerce, and new accelerators. The Power Platform will see new licensing options for Power BI Premium, deeper Power BI integration with Teams, mixed reality canvas app support, updates to Power Automate Desktop, authoring enhancements for Power Virtual Agents, and signature detection in AI Builder. Customers can start testing the new features in February in readiness for the April release. More information on these updates can be found here: Read More +
